Rebecca, who joined King's Ely Prep in Year 5 and left after Sixth Form in 2019, is one of six players to be offered contracts for the GB Senior Hockey women's programme at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre.

After leaving King's, Rebecca, who is from the Newmarket area, went on to study Sport and Exercise Sciences at Durham University. Her father, Kevin, is Head of Physical Education at King’s Ely Senior.

As well as being a key member of King’s Ely’s 1st Hockey Teams, Rebecca also played National League Hockey for Cambridge City Hockey Club alongside Helen Richardson-Walsh, Olympic Gold Medallist. Aged 16, Rebecca was playing for England Hockey. It was not just Hockey that Rebecca excelled in at school though; she represented King's in Netball, Tennis, Rounders, and Athletics too, including at English Schools Cross Country and Track and Field level.

Whilst at Durham University, Rebecca played in both the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) and National League for four years. She was involved with the Welsh Hockey programme, and gained her first senior international cap in a test series against South Africa in 2022. Rebecca has represented Wales at the Junior World Cup, Birmingham Commonwealth Games, European Qualifiers, and European II Championship. She has also been involved with the GB Elite Development Programme.

Rebecca, who works as a Hockey Coach at Clifton College in Bristol, now has 18 senior international caps for Wales, and plays in the Premier League for Clifton Robinsons.

What an achievement, Rebecca - we are so excited to see where your GB selection takes you next!
