1541 Bursary Fund
ㅤㅤㅤ
The King’s Ely 1541 Bursary Fund provides financial support to enable young people to benefit from a King’s Ely education, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
Supporters are invited to join the King’s Ely 1541 Club, with a suggested monthly donation of £15.41, in honour of the year the School received its Royal Charter.
Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a meaningful difference.

Piers came to King’s Ely through our partnership with the Royal National Children’s SpringBoard Foundation, which connects young people with the potential to thrive in a boarding school environment through transformative bursary opportunities.
Why did you decide to support the 1541 Bursary Fund?
"I know from personal experience what it means to be given an opportunity that your family could not otherwise have afforded. I benefited from that generosity during my own education, and it had a profound effect on my life. That is why I want to support the 1541 Bursary Fund. I want children in circumstances similar to my own to have the opportunity I had: to come to King’s, to experience everything the school has to offer and to see where that opportunity might take them."

Following her mother's terminal illness, bursary support enabled Molly to continue her King's Ely education, providing stability and continuity.
King’s Ely has supported several Ukrainian families whose lives and education were suddenly disrupted by war.
“At a time when almost everything in our lives had suddenly become uncertain, King's Ely gave our son something incredibly important: safety, stability, the ability to continue his education, and a sense that his future had not been taken away from him by the war.”
“It was an act of humanity at one of the most difficult moments our family had experienced.”
