The Old Eleans' Club
Founded in 1889, The Old Eleans’ Club exists to ensure that those who have passed through King’s Ely remain connected to one another and to the School long after they leave.
All day and boarding pupils become automatic lifetime members upon leaving, with no annual subscription. Pupils from Year 9 upwards are invited to join the Club at a one-off cost of £120. These membership fees are carefully invested by the Club and, in addition to helping subsidise alumni events, contribute towards supporting the ongoing development of the School.
The Club operates as an independent body, while working in close partnership with King’s Ely to strengthen alumni engagement. Each year it hosts a black-tie dinner in the Monastic Barn, supports a summer drinks reception and annual cricket match, and sponsors two distinguished lectures within the School calendar: the Bowman Lecture in Arts and Humanities during Michaelmas Term, and the Osmond Lecture in STEM during Lent Term.
