Class of 1995 Reunion: A Taste of the Past

Welcoming class of 1995 (or thereabouts) back for school dinner and a trip down memory lane

On Saturday 31st May, we had the pleasure of welcoming back members of the Class of 1995 for a reunion filled with fond memories, laughter, and a strong sense of connection. It was a joy to see so many people return to King’s, some for the first time in years, to celebrate old friendships and revisit the school.

The afternoon began with a warm welcome from the Development & Alumni Office, and Chris Marshall, followed by a guided tour of the school grounds. As alumni made their way through the site, the chance to walk through once-familiar corridors and classrooms sparked lively conversations and the occasional laugh of recognition.

The tour offered an opportunity to see how King’s has changed over the years, while still retaining the timeless atmosphere that makes King's so distinctive. Stops included the recently developed Art Studio and Music School, as well as the refurbished Porta Library. Each space was met with interest and curiosity, often accompanied by stories from school days and comparisons to how things “used to be.”

Yet it wasn’t just the changes that caught attention. The enduring charm of the Monastic Barn and the tranquil beauty of the grounds reminded everyone that, despite the passing of time, the heart of King’s remains just as they remembered.

The afternoon concluded with a school dinner served in the Monastic Barn, a true highlight of the day. Tables were laid for a shared meal that brought back echoes of school days gone by. As plates were passed and stories exchanged, the Barn filled with the comforting hum of conversation and laughter.

As one alumnus put it, “Coming back today felt like pressing pause on the present just for a little while, and stepping right back into something wonderfully familiar.”

The reunion was a heartfelt celebration of friendship, memory, and the lasting ties that bind the King’s community. We are grateful to the Class of 1995 for making the occasion so special, and we look forward to many more opportunities to welcome our alumni home.
