Quercus HR provides outsourced HR advice and support to employers. The business was started by Rachel Sandham after working for many years as a solicitor in Mayfair, where she had a successful Employment practice catering to clients ranging from multinational businesses to private individuals and landed estates.
Quercus HR clients are primarily small to medium sized businesses, but clients also include private households, charities, landed estates, and larger businesses. We offer practical, pragmatic, commercially focused advice and support that is tailored to the given situation. In this way we aim to bridge the gap between a generic HR subscription service, and the high prices that can be incurred when seeking legal advice.
We provide policy and contract drafting and everyday advice, but having a legal background means that we are also particularly well-placed to guide businesses through times of change, difficult conversations, restructures, exits, and disciplinary and grievance procedures. We can provide as much or as little support as is required, and can adapt to your needs whether you want us to take the reins, to remain in the background, or to work alongside an existing HR department to provide additional guidance. Although we do not currently provide legal advice, our advice inevitably benefits from the experience of having been in legal practice.
I'm happy to offer the King's community a 25% saving on the usual hourly rate, and will always tailor costs similarly and preferentially where fixed fees, day rates or retainers are agreed.
