Mr Sean Quinn, who is our Head of Psychology, invited Lucy to deliver the final ‘Psychology Bistro’ lecture of the Lent Term.
After graduating with a First Class Honours, Lucy went on to study an MSc in Organisational and Social Psychology at The London School of Economics and Political Science - LSE, for which she achieved a Distinction.
For someone in her late-twenties, Lucy's CV is both extensive and impressive. Today, she works as an Occupational Psychologist for London-based firm, Pantheon Leadership, a Leadership Advisory business working at Board and Senior Executive level in Financial Services.
Mr Quinn said: “Lucy’s inspirational talk charted how she has navigated her studies, her employment since her studies, and what her current role involves. What was hugely beneficial for our A-Level Psychology students to hear as they approach the challenging exam period, is that success is not linear.
“With great honesty, Lucy discussed a range of highs and lows she has experienced, and this really resonated with the students. What was also clear was that success and happiness are best achieved by surrounding yourself with good people, committing to be the best version of yourself, and accepting that sometimes good is good enough. It was fantastic to see Lucy back where it all started, and we look forward to seeing her again soon!”
Lucy said: "Returning to King's was truly nostalgic. The school holds a treasure trove of happy memories that make it such a special place for me. My time at King’s was formative in every sense, thanks to exceptional teachers who guided me. Reconnecting with some of these inspirational people was an absolute joy.
“As I reflected on my own A-Level journey, I recalled the stress and uncertainty that came with it. If my visit could offer even a glimmer of hope, inspiration, or reassurance to current students facing similar challenges, then I am humbled to have made a positive difference.
“Mr Quinn's teaching and approach was instrumental in sparking my passion for Psychology, a subject that has become an integral part of my professional journey in Leadership Advisory. Psychology is more than just a discipline – it is a toolkit for understanding human behaviour, driving positive change, and empowering others. I feel incredibly fortunate to be doing what I love for a living, and I have no doubt that the students I met will go on to discover their own passions and make a meaningful impact in the world. I wish them all the best of luck in the months ahead!”
